Jordan Brainerd is a seasoned nonprofit and philanthropic leader with over 20 years of experience managing multi-million-dollar programs, securing competitive grants, and implementing innovative systems to optimize organizational efficiency in the philanthropic and medical research fields. She currently works for the Rainwater Charitable Foundation, a Fort Worth-based private family foundation supporting neurodegenerative disease research and family economic security. Prior to this role, she oversaw program development and research administration for large federal grants at two National Cancer Institute designated Cancer Centers and served as the founding Executive Director of The Academy of Medicine, Engineering, and Science of Texas, a nonprofit established to help build a stronger identity for Texas as a center of achievement in science, medicine, and engineering.
Jordan serves on the board of the Visiting Nurse Association and the Lamplighter School and was a member of the 2016 class of Leadership ISD. She earned a M.B.A. from The University of Texas at Austin and graduated from the University of Colorado with a B.A. in Political Science
